OWNER/operator Artist/Teacher/Homeschool Mom
Stephany Miller
Hi I'm Ms. Steph and Fort STEAM was my vision as a homeschool mom. I saw all the places that homeschool moms struggled and wanted a place where you could send your kids off to take care of the subjects that not all mom's feel comfortable or even have the time to teach themselves.
I love my kids, my coffee, and my birds. I have 14 parrots. Yes, I'm a crazy bird lady.
I have graduated two of my homeschoolers and am working on the third.
I've been teaching Art for nine years and homeschooling for sixteen years.

OWNER/Operator
STEM teacher/Homeschool dad
Jonah Miller
I'm Mr. Jonah and I teach just about everything Science and Math based around here. Whether it's Coding, Math Study Hall, 3D Printing, or Human AnP I'm kind of the head nerd around here.
I was a 33W/35T in the US Army for six years working in the Military Intelligence field with all the secret squirrel stuff.
I left my lucrative job as a Computer Systems Engineer for the government sector three years ago and I haven't looked back. Teaching the next generation to love science, technology and math is what I live for.
I'm a homeschool dad of three amazing kids and husband to Ms. Stephany our resident Art director and bird addict.

Gadgets' Teacher (5-8yo) and afterschool ART teacher
Elsa Miller
Hi, I'm Elsa!!! I started out assisting Mrs. Stephany with her art classes to finding my own calling teaching the elementary grade classes (5-8yo), and I love it! I also teach the afterschool classes, which are also a ton of fun. I'm obsessed with my pastel colors (especially pink and purple), hello kitty and my Jeep. I'm a homeschool graduate and Mrs. Stephany and Mr. Jonah's oldest daughter. I love my students and can't wait to teach them again this year!

Student Success Advisor and high school teacher
Lisa Anderson
I’m so excited to be part of the Fort STEAM team. I have a degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University and spent time working with both the Navy College Office and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. I’ve been homeschooling for 14 years and have graduated two students—one is now studying at Augusta University, and the other is serving in the Marine Corps. I still have an 11th grader and preschooler at home. My favorite science is geology. My favorite book is Jane Eyre and scented markers are my favorite school supply.

High School Teacher, Teacher's Assisant, and Afterschool STEM Teacher.
Lori Spell
I am so happy to have the opportunity to take part in the Fort STEAM family. I grew up in Columbia county. I received my BSN in nursing from MCG in 1992. Homeschooling since 2011 a child on the autism spectrum as well as several other learning challenges.
My favorite subject in school was always science and history. I love reading cozy murder mysteries and theology themed books. I love to watch all types of documentaries as well as I shop for curriculum I will never have time to use. I teach the after-school stem classes and am a high school teacher for the homeschool microschool, a general teacher's assistant and substitute teacher as well.

Teacher's Assistant and Teacher for Robots, Coding & Computers as well as Biomes
Aydan Bliss
Aydan is one of our awesome teachers, leading our robots, coding, and computers and biomes classes for our 5-8 year old's. He also helps out as a teaching assistant to Mr. Jonah and Ms. Elsa. He'll be writing his own bio and submitting it soon.

KinderSTEAM Teacher, High School History & Latin Teacher and Teacher's Assistant
Julie Kursch
My name is Julie Kursch. I have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from the Community College of Baltimore County in Maryland, and I’ve spent the last 14 years homeschooling our 13 children—two of whom have already graduated. Teaching and working with children has been a lifelong passion of mine, both in the classroom and at home.
I have a deep love for children’s literature and enjoy sharing stories that spark imagination and curiosity. One of my favorite authors is Beatrix Potter, whose timeless tales and charming illustrations have long inspired my approach to early childhood learning. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors. I love and have raised various backyard farm animals as well as Great Danes for several years. I am greatly looking forward to joining the Fort STEAM crew this school year!
